mesothoracic postnotum [FBbt_00004588]
The most posterior part of the mesothoracic tergum (Ferris, 1950). It lies partially under the scutellum with just a small crescent posterior to the scutellum visible from above (Ferris, 1950). It forms a deep phragma that projects into the thorax (Ferris, 1950). It is composed of two (bilateral) laterotergites and a (medial) mediotergite, separated by the postnotal ridges (Fabian et al., 2016).
