It is a secondary neuron that is part of the DPLp1 (LHp2) medial hemilineage (Bates et al., 2020). There are around 14 of these neurons per hemisphere and they are cholinergic (Dolan et al., 2019; Schlegel et al., 2021).

There are five of these neurons per hemisphere and they are cholinergic (Dolan et al., 2019).
