transverse antennal lobe tract 2 projection neuron 1 [FBbt_00007483]

Unilateral multiglomerular antennal lobe projection neuron that fasciculates with the transverse antennal lobe tract. The cell body is located lateral to the antennal lobe and fibers form arborizations in multiple glomeruli in the ventral antennal lobe. The main fiber turns dorsally and joins the common root of the mALT/mlALT/tALT. The axon enters the mushroom body pedunculus where it turns posteriorly and bifurcates. One branch terminates in the anterior region of the mushroom body calyx whilst the other turns laterally and terminates in the ventral posterior area of the lateral horn. One branch projects ventrally from the subesophageal zone and terminates in the middle area of the subesophageal zone. There are at least two of these cells per hemisphere.
