Adult olfactory receptor neuron that expresses the Ionotropic receptor (Ir) 92a and the co-receptors Ir25a and Ir76b (Benton et al., 2025). Its axon innervates antennal lobe glomerulus VM1, bilaterally, fasciculating with the antennal lobe commissure (Silbering et al., 2011; Kaur et al., 2019). Its dendrite transduces signals from antennal coeloconic sensillum ac1 (Benton et al., 2009) and it responds to ammonia (Min et al., 2013). It develops from an Nba precursor (Benton et al., 2025). There are approximately 15 of these cells on each side (Grabe et al., 2016).
