Adult olfactory receptor neuron that expresses the Ionotropic receptor (Ir) 31a (FBgn0051718) and the co-receptor Ir8a (Benton et al., 2025). It sends output to the antennal lobe glomerulus VL2 posterior compartment in both hemispheres, fasciculating with the antennal commissure (Silbering et al., 2011; Benton et al., 2025). Its dendrite transduces signals from the antennal coeloconic sensillum ac1 (Benton et al., 2009). There are approximately 10-15 of these per antenna (Benton et al., 2025).
