Dopaminergic neuron whose cell body is located in a small cluster along the dorsoventral midline of the posterior superior medial protocerebrum of the adult brain.

Mao and Davis (2009) identify 8 protocerebral clusters coincidentally positive for TH-GAL4 activity and tyrosine hydroxylase immunoreactivity, implying these cells are dopaminergic. They refer to the protocerebral posteriomedial dopaminergic neuron 1 as a cluster. Hartenstein et al. (2017) - FBrf0234128 show that the larval DM1 cluster (primary DPMm1/l1 lineages) becomes the adult PPM1 cluster, but unclear whether any adult cells do not derive from functional larval primary neurons.
