ORN_VM7d [FBbt_00067042]
Adult olfactory receptor neuron (ORN) that expresses Or42a (Benton et al., 2025). Its dendrite transduces signals from maxillary palp basiconic sensillum pb1 (Couto et al., 2005; Endo et al., 2007). It responds to esters and ketones (Benton et al., 2025). Its axon innervates antennal lobe glomerulus VM7 dorsal compartment, bilaterally (Benton et al., 2025). It expresses sNPF (Carlsson et al., 2010). It develops from an Nab precursor (Benton et al., 2025). There are approximately 15 of these cells on each side (Grabe et al., 2016; Benton et al., 2025).
