ORN_VC5 [FBbt_00110015]

Adult olfactory receptor neuron that expresses the Ionotropic receptor (Ir) 41a (FBgn0040849) and the co-receptors 25a (FBgn0031634) and 76b (FBgn0036937). Its dendrite transduces signals from the antennal coeloconic sensillum ac2 (Benton et al., 2009). It responds to polyamines (Benton et al., 2025). It innervates antennal lobe glomerulus VC5 (Schlegel et al., 2021) bilaterally (Kaur et al., 2019). It develops from an Nba precursor (Benton et al., 2025). There are approximately 12-13 of these cells on each side (Grabe et al., 2016; Benton et al., 2025).
