ORN_VC1 [FBbt_00067036]
Adult olfactory receptor neuron (ORN) that expresses Or33c and Or85e (Benton et al., 2025). Its dendrite transduces signals from maxillary palp basiconic sensillum pb2 and it responds to various odorants associated with plant matter (Benton et al., 2025). Its axon innervates antennal lobe glomerulus VC1, bilaterally (Benton et al., 2025). It expresses sNPF (Carlsson et al., 2010). It develops from an Nba precursor (Benton et al., 2025). There are approximately 12-14 of these cells on each side (Grabe et al., 2016; Benton et al., 2025).
