Adult olfactory receptor neuron (ORN) that expresses Or47b (Benton et al., 2025). It also expresses fruitless (Yu et al., 2010) and sNPF (Carlsson et al., 2010). It innervates the antennal lobe glomerulus VA1v bilaterally, fasciculating with the antennal lobe commissure (Kaur et al., 2019). Its dendrite transduces signals from antennal trichoid sensillum at4 (Couto et al., 2005; Grabe et al., 2016). It responds to a pheromone secreted by males and females (van der Goes et al., 2007). It develops from an Nab precursor (Benton et al., 2025). There are around 40-50 of these cells on each side (Benton et al., 2025).
