ORN_DM6 [FBbt_00067020]

Adult olfactory receptor neuron (ORN) that expresses Or67a (Benton et al., 2025). Its dendrite transduces signals from antennal basiconic sensillum ab10 and it responds to esters (Benton et al., 2025). Its axon innervates antennal lobe glomerulus DM6, bilaterally (Benton et al., 2025). It develops from an Nab precursor (Benton et al., 2025). There are around 25 of these cells on each side (Benton et al., 2025).

Antennal basiconic sensillum ab4 is bidendritic. According to Hallem et al. (2004), adult ORN 49a corresponds to the functionally defined ORN ab10A, implying that adult ORN 67a corresponds to ORN ab10B.
