ORN_DM5 [FBbt_00067049]

Adult olfactory receptor neuron (ORN) that expresses Or85a and Or33b (Benton et al., 2025). Its dendrite transduces signals from antennal basiconic sensillum ab2 and it responds to ethyl-3-hydroxybutyrate (Benton et al., 2025). It innervates antennal lobe glomerulus DM5, bilaterally (Benton et al., 2025). It develops from an Nab precursor (Benton et al., 2025). There are approximately 23 of these cells on each side in females and around 16 in males (Grabe et al., 2016; Benton et al., 2025).
