adult female LSAN ascending neuron [FBbt_00053332]
Adult female-specific ascending neuron with its soma at the posterior edge of the abdominal neuromere (Shao et al., 2019). It has dendritic arbors in the abdominal neuromere and it receives mechanosensory input during copulation (Shao et al., 2019). In the brain, it has mixed presynaptic and postsynaptic arbors in the subesophageal zone and the pars intercerebralis (Shao et al., 2019). There is one of these cells on each side and it is cholinergic (Shao et al., 2019). Its activity reduces receptivity to males (Shao et al., 2019).
