SMP-gamma neuron of the dopaminergic PPL1 cluster [FBbt_00048251]
Unilateral MB-SV neuron that has terminals in the mushroom body gamma lobe and the superior medial protocerebrum, in addition to the area surrounding the vertical lobe (Xie et al., 2018). It develops from the larval OAN-e1 cell (Truman et al., 2023).

PPL1-SMP in Truman et al. (2023) judged to correspond to SMP-gamma in Xie et al. (2018) based on figures and descriptions in papers and FlyCircuit 3D image (TH-F-000018) in Virtual Fly Brain - unilateral and innervation mainly in posterior crepine and SMP, with only small amount in gamma lobe - cp231004.
