OA-VUMd4 [FBbt_00110330]

Adult octopaminergic descending neuron of the VUMd cluster, with its soma posterior-ventral to the gnathal ganglion (Busch and Tanimoto, 2010; Schlegel et al., 2024; Dorkenwald et al., 2024. In the brain, it has postsynapses and presynapses in the saddle, the gnathal ganglion and the flange, and also has postsynapses in the cantle (Schlegel et al., 2024; Dorkenwald et al., 2024. In the VNC, it follows the median dorsal abdominal tract (Sturner et al., 2025). Its predicted neurotransmitter is acetylcholine (Eckstein et al., 2024. There are approximately 1-2 of these cells per organism (Schlegel et al., 2024; Dorkenwald et al., 2024; Sturner et al., 2025). (Busch and Tanimoto, 2010, Stürner et al., 2025, Dorkenwald et al., 2024, Eckstein et al., 2024)

Adult Cholinergic Nervous system Octopaminergic

(Busch and Tanimoto, 2010, Stürner et al., 2025, Dorkenwald et al., 2024, Eckstein et al., 2024)

The neurotransmitter was assessed by labelling cells with tdc2-GAL4 (FBti0101786) (Busch and Tanimoto, 2010. Pre- or post-synapse locations are the fewest regions that collectively contain at least 80 percent of all pre- or post-synapses of these (DNg66) neurons in FlyWire.
