The larger of the mesothoracic pleurosternal muscles. It is located dorsally to pleurosternal muscle 60 (Miyan and Ewing, 1985. It is one of only two flight muscles that express doublesex (Shirangi et al., 2013. (Miyan and Ewing, 1985, Shirangi et al., 2013)
