These nerves are only found in abdominal segments (Gorczyca et al., 1994; Santos et al., 2006. (Gorczyca et al., 1994, Santos et al., 2006, Campos-Ortega and Hartenstein, 1997)

Santos et al., 2006 refer to the proximal region as the median nerve (MeN) and the post-branch point region as the transverse nerve.
