Larva Peptidergic lineage 5 NB5-3 primary neuron

Larval Capability-releasing neuron with its cell body in the posterior medial labial neuromere (Siegmund and Korge, 2001; Kean et al., 2002; Huckesfeld et al., 2021). There is one of these cells on each side, with a large cell body (Kean et al., 2002; Huckesfeld et al., 2021). It develops from neuroblast NB5-3 during embryogenesis (Gabilondo et al., 2011. Its axon runs on an outwardly curved path toward the dorsal midline, crosses it, and projects to the cerebral ganglion before joining the nervus corporis cardiaci (Siegmund and Korge, 2001; Kean et al., 2002. It has peptide release sites in the corpus cardiacum and the aorta (Huckesfeld et al., 2021). (Kean et al., 2002, Hückesfeld et al., 2021, Siegmund and Korge, 2001, Gabilondo et al., 2011)

These were the only cells in the subesophageal ganglion to stain with an antibody against a linking region of the Capability prepropeptide (Kean et al., 2002. Suspected by Park et al. (2008) - FBrf0210278 to be the same two cells that express FMRFa, but Gabilondo et al., 2011 say no co-localization of Capa and FMRFa antibody staining.
