Intermediate region of the larval optic neuropil, between the distal and proximal LON regions. It contains the terminals of the Rh5 photoreceptors. (Larderet et al., 2017)
The distal LON in Sprecher et al., 2011 (FBrf0215208) also included the intermediate LON; these were separated in Larderet et al., 2017.
