Adult fruitless neuron with its soma in the posterior inferior protocerebrum (Cachero et al., 2010. It develops from neuroblast BLP2 (VLPp1) (Ito et al., 2013; Yu et al., 2013. These neurons show no gross sexual dimorphism (Cachero et al., 2010. (Yu et al., 2010, Ito et al., 2013, Cachero et al., 2010, Yu et al., 2013)
Cachero et al., 2010 say that pIP3 and pIP7 from Yu et al., 2010 are morphologically distinct subtypes of pIP-c.
