Descending neuron belonging to the DNp group, having a cell body on the posterior surface of the brain (Namiki et al., 2018. It has dendritic arbors in the inferior and superior posterior slope that form a characteristic Y shape (Suver et al., 2016; Namiki et al., 2018. It receives a large amount of its input from ocellar ganglion interneurons (Dorkenwald et al., 2024; Schlegel et al., 2024. It has a large diameter descending axon and it sends output to the neck neuropil (Suver et al., 2016; Namiki et al., 2018. There is one of these cells per hemisphere and it remains ipsilateral (Namiki et al., 2018. It is cholinergic (Cheong et al., 2024). (Namiki et al., 2018, Dorkenwald et al., 2024, Suver et al., 2016)
