ID: FBbt_20008190
Adult male fruitless pMP1 descending neuron (Takemura et al., 2024; Marin et al., 2024; Sturner et al., 2025). Its morphology in the brain is similar to that of the female oviDNx neurons, forming a loop in the superior brain, crossing the midline above the esophagus, arborizing lateral to the esophagus and entering the cervical connective on the contralateral side (Sturner et al., 2025). Within the VNC it fasciculates with the median dorsal abdominal tract and forms no significant arbors until reaching the abdominal neuromere, where it has presynapses (Takemura et al., 2024; Marin et al., 2024; Sturner et al., 2025). Its predicted neurotransmitter is acetylcholine (Eckstein et al., 2024). There are approximately 2 of these cells per organism (Takemura et al., 2024; Marin et al., 2024; Sturner et al., 2025). (Stürner et al., 2025)
Cell type based on MANC v1.2.1 data (Takemura et al., 2024), identified at light level by Sturner et al. (2025). This is the only type matched to pMP1 in the male Sturner et al. (2025).
