Tangential neuron of the horizontal system with wide-field arborization consisting of mixed pre- and post-synaptic within lobula plate layer 1 (Boergens et al., 2018; Wei et al., 2020. There are two of these cells (dorsal and ventral) that tile the entire layer, with significant overlap (Boergens et al., 2018. They also have dense presynaptic arborization in the inferior posterior slope (Boergens et al., 2018; Wei et al., 2020. Their cell bodies are found in the opposite hemisphere to these arborizations (Boergens et al., 2018, close to the midline in the anterior brain (Wei et al., 2020. They are GABAergic (Wei et al., 2020. (Wei et al., 2020, Boergens et al., 2018)
