Any adult neuron (FBbt:00047095) that is capable of some detection of pheromone (GO:0043695).

Likely to be the ppk23 cells, as null mutants lose leg and proboscis responses to pheromones, however, function of ppk23 in wing margin was not investigated. (Thistle et al., 2012 - FBrf0218411). ppk23 cells are distinct from sugar and water cells, but a few cells coexpress Gr66a and ppk23 (Thistle et al., 2012). Some ppk23 cells also express ppk29, but not clear from Thistle et al. (2012) whether this is all or a subset.
