Adult uniglomerular antennal lobe projection neuron that has dendrites that mainly innervate the antennal lobe glomerulus VA1 ventral compartment and is the twelfth cell type to develop from neuroblast ALad1 during the larval stage (Yu et al., 2010. Its axon innervates the mushroom body calyx and the ventral half of the lateral horn (Marin et al., 2002. It is a fruitless aDT-a neuron (Cachero et al., 2010; Ito et al., 2013. There are around 4-5 of these per hemisphere, they fasciculate with the medial antennal lobe tract and they are cholinergic (Yu et al., 2010; Bates et al., 2020. (Cachero et al., 2010, Marin et al., 2002, Bates et al., 2020, Ito et al., 2013, Jefferis et al., 2001, Yu et al., 2010)

This is a subtype of the fruitless aDT-a neuron, whose lineage is ALad1 (adPN) according to Ito et al., 2013 and is stated to include VA1v PNs in Cachero et al., 2010, but consists of approximately 33 neurons.
