One of two large campaniform sensilla at the most distal point of the wing margin of the distal costa. It is innervated by the second born of the twin sensilla neurons (Murray et al., 1984. (Murray et al., 1984)
This sensillum was classed as a bristle; however, both the initial reference (Murray et al., 1984 and a recent comprehensive study (Dinges et al., 2020 - FBrf0247616) unambiguously describe it as a campaniform sensillum.
