ID: FBbt_00048218
Adult Gustatory system Nervous system Sensory neuron
Sensory neuron that has a dendrite in the prothoracic leg tarsal taste bristle 4s and is capable of detecting sweet stimuli (Ling et al., 2014. It expresses Gr5a, Gr64c and Gr64e in addition to the core receptors expressed by sugar-sensing neurons of the leg and the sensillum it innervates can detect the sugars fructose, glucose, maltose, maltotriose, palatinose, sucrose and trehalose (Ling et al., 2014. It does not ascend to the brain (Kwon et al., 2014. (Ling et al., 2014, Kwon et al., 2014)
