Adult Muscle

Azevedo et al. (2024) find only one (main) prothoracic intracoxal trochanter levator (flexor) muscle, but this is split into dorsal and ventral regions attaching on different sides of the tendon, innervated by different MNs. The 'dorsal' fibers probably correspond to this 'lateral' muscle.
