Adult Muscle

Tarsal retro depressor muscle that originates on the posterior side of the distal tibia (Soler et al., 2004; Azevedo et al., 2024). It is composed of 4 or 5 fibers (Soler et al., 2004).

Soler et al. (2004) say that fibers of these muscles do not attach to a tendon, this is corrected in Azevedo et al. (2024), who show that they insert on the tarsus depressor tendon - hence rename to tarsus retro depressor muscle.
