Larva Nervous system Sense organ

The most ventral of the five pit sensilla located in the distal region of the terminal organ, on the head of the embryo/larva. It is innervated by three dendrites, one of which terminates more proximally and ends with a tubular body, indicative of mechanosensation, the other two are the chemosensitive gustatory receptor C10 and C11 neurons (Rist and Thum, 2017. (Singh and Singh, 1984, Rist and Thum, 2017)
