oviDNd
ID: FBbt_20003341
Adult oviposition descending neuron with its soma near to the antler (Schlegel et al., 2024; Dorkenwald et al., 2024; Sturner et al., 2025). It receives synaptic input in the ipsilateral superior medial, intermediate and lateral protocerebrum and sends output to the saddle and the contralateral flange, before descending to the ventral nerve cord (Schlegel et al., 2024; Dorkenwald et al., 2024). There is one of these cells per hemisphere (Schlegel et al., 2024; Dorkenwald et al., 2024; Sturner et al., 2025).
Cell type based on Hemibrain (Scheffer et al., 2020) and FlyWire (FAFB) (Dorkenwald et al., 2024; Schlegel et al., 2024) data. Could not be unambiguously matched to a FANC VNC cell part by Sturner et al. (2025).
