Adult olfactory receptor neuron Ir64a that innervates the antennal lobe DC4 glomerulus, bilaterally (Ai et al., 2010; Silbering et al., 2011. Its dendrite transduces signals from a grooved sensillum of the ventral compartment of chamber III of sacculus (Shanbhag et al., 1995. It responds to acid (H+ ions) and carbon dioxide (Ai et al., 2010. There are around 10 of these cells on each side (Benton et al., 2025. (Benton et al., 2025, Shanbhag et al., 1995, Silbering et al., 2011, Ai et al., 2013, Ai et al., 2010)
