Nervous system Neuroblast

DAL neuroblast ventral to DALv1 (Hartenstein et al., 2015. It is found in the dorsal group of posterior protocerebral neuroblasts during the embryonic stage (Urbach et al., 2003; Kumar et al., 2009. Its primary neurons project to the larval lateral accessory lobe and mushroom body medial lobe (Hartenstein et al., 2015. Some primary neurons persist to the adult stage to target the fan-shaped body and noduli (Kandimalla et al., 2023. Each DALv2 neuroblast produces approximately 135 large-field central complex secondary neurons, the vast majority of which are ellipsoid body R-neurons (Omoto et al., 2018; Kandimalla et al., 2023. (Yu et al., 2013, Pereanu and Hartenstein, 2006, Kandimalla et al., 2023, Ito et al., 2013, Urbach et al., 2003, Hartenstein et al., 2015, Omoto et al., 2018, Kumar et al., 2009)

Bridi et al., 2019 - FlyBase:FBrf0243005 show that Ppd5 generates the EB ring neurons, making this synonymous with DALv2.
