Adult uniglomerular antennal lobe projection neuron that develops from neuroblast ALlv1 and receives its sensory input in antennal lobe glomerulus DA1 (Bates et al., 2020; Scheffer et al., 2020; Taisz et al., 2023). It follows the medial antennal lobe tract (Bates et al., 2020; Scheffer et al., 2020). It projects to the lateral horn and superior intermediate protocerebrum, but does not innervate the mushroom body (Taisz et al., 2023). It is cholinergic (Taisz et al., 2023). It is part of the pathway for detection of the male pheromone cis-vaccenyl acetate (cVA), and has different behavioral effects in males and females, despite similar gross morphology (Taisz et al., 2023).
