The region of the anterior optic tubercle with the most dense labelling of fibers and synapses (Ito et al., 2014. It contains the terminals of MC61 neurons (Otsuna and Ito, 2006; Hulse et al., 2021; Timaeus et al., 2020. (Timaeus et al., 2020, Otsuna and Ito, 2006, Hulse et al., 2021, Ito et al., 2014)

Timaeus et al., 2020 divide this into 4 (central and lateral x anterior and posterior), whereas Tai et al. (2020) divide this into 3 (along medial-lateral axis with no description of anterior-posterior axis). Hemibrain types (TuBu06-10) seem to correspond better to 2x2 than 3x1. Based on innervating TuBu types, this contains AOTUlp, AOTUlc, AOTUla and AOTUil of Omoto et al., 2017 and Kandimalla et al. (2023).
