Gustatory bristle on the outer surface of the labellum (Shanbhag et al., 2002). It is innervated by either 2 or 4 chemosensory neurons and one mechanosensory neuron (Shanbhag et al., 2002). There are 31 of these on each side, which can be divided into three subtypes based on length and number of chemosensory neurons, but there is some variability in the number of each subtype (Shanbhag et al., 2002).
