Small synaptic neuropil domain of the larval protocerebrum that surrounds the medial lobe of the mushroom body (Pereanu et al., 2010; Hartenstein et al., 2015. It is the larval counterpart of the adult crepine (anterior inferior protocerebrum) (Pereanu et al., 2010. (Pereanu et al., 2010, Hartenstein et al., 2015, Younossi-Hartenstein et al., 2003)
Note - description of relative location of brain structures in this definition is based on Younossi-Hartenstein et al., 2003 description of the first instar larval brain and Pereanu et al., 2010 third instar larval brain.
