Neurohemal organ found medially in the anterodorsal part of the larval ring gland, surrounded by cells of the prothoracic gland (Dai and Gilbert, 1991; de Velasco et al., 2004). It is composed of smaller cells than the prothoracic gland (Dai and Gilbert, 1991. It produces juvenile hormone (Dai and Gilbert, 1991; Hartenstein, 1993. (De Velasco et al., 2004, Hartenstein, 1993, Campos-Ortega and Hartenstein, 1997, Dai and Gilbert, 1991)
