dorsal denticle [FBbt_00005208]

Large and pigmented denticle of the dorsal region of the larval cuticle. There is one row of denticles per segment. Posterior to it, there are two rows of cells that secrete smooth cuticle. (Campos-Ortega and Hartenstein, 1997, Bokor and DiNardo, 1996)
