Descending neuron belonging to the DNp group, having a cell body on the posterior surface of the brain, dorsal to the superior posterior slope (Matsuo et al., 2016; Namiki et al., 2018. The primary neurite extends anterioventrally and forms several branches at the medial side of the inferior posterior slope (Matsuo et al., 2016. The dorsal branch projects anterodorsally to form postsynaptic terminals in the epaulette and superior posterior slope (Matsuo et al., 2016. The anteriolateral and medial branches form postsynaptic terminals in the ipsilateral antennal mechanosensory and motor center zones B and E, respectively (Matsuo et al., 2016. The ventral branch extends posteroventrally to exit the brain, descending on the ipsilateral side of the cervical connective (Matsuo et al., 2016; Namiki et al., 2018. In the VNC, it fasciculates with the median tract of the dorsal cervical fascicle and innervates the neck and wing neuropils, intermediate tectulum, abdominal neuromere, and T2 and T3 leg neuropils (Namiki et al., 2018. It remains mainly ipsilateral, but some fibers may cross the midline in the VNC (Namiki et al., 2018. There is one of these cells per hemisphere (Namiki et al., 2018. It is cholinergic (Cheong et al., 2024). (Namiki et al., 2018, Matsuo et al., 2016)

Namiki et al., 2018, identify this as being morphologically similar to VGlut-F-200226 and fru-F-700251, described by FlyCircuit (FBrf0212704).
