Adult descending neuron with its soma in the anterior dorsal brain (Takemura et al., 2024; Marin et al., 2024; Sturner et al., 2025). It belongs to the WEDd1 (DALd) lineage (Schlegel et al., 2024; Dorkenwald et al., 2024). In the brain, it has presynapses and postsynapses in the gnathal ganglion and the ipsilateral lateral accessory lobe, vest and inferior posterior slope (Schlegel et al., 2024; Dorkenwald et al., 2024). Within the VNC, it fasciculates with the median tract of dorsal cervical fasciculus III and sends output to the leg neuropil (Takemura et al., 2024; Marin et al., 2024). Its predicted neurotransmitter is acetylcholine (Eckstein et al., 2024). There are approximately 4 of these cells per organism (Takemura et al., 2024; Marin et al., 2024; Sturner et al., 2025).

Type identified at light level and matched across EM datasets by Sturner et al. (2025). Pre- or post-synapse locations are the fewest regions that collectively contain at least 80 percent of all pre- or post-synapses of these neurons in FlyWire.
