DLMN5 [FBbt_00004079]

Motor neuron that innervates the dorsal longitudinal indirect flight muscles 5 and 6 (45a and b) (Ikeda and Koenig, 1988. It has a very large soma, located contralateral to its innervated muscles, near the dorsal midline between the pro- and meso-thoracic neuromeres (Ikeda and Koenig, 1988. Its dendrites are mainly contralateral, but also some ipsilateral, to its soma, in the dorsal mesothoracic neuromere (Ikeda and Koenig, 1988. Its axon exits the ventral nerve cord in the posterior dorsal mesothoracic nerve (Ikeda and Koenig, 1988. (Ikeda and Koenig, 1988)
