Fat cell of the larva that is found in the pupa or early adult and has detached from other larval fat cells (Nelliot et al., 2006). These cells persist into the newly-eclosed adult to provide a food source (Aguila et al., 2007). They are no longer detectable from day 3 of adult life (Butterworth et al., 1988).
