Primordium that is the precursor to the cephalic vascular rudiment. It is a group of cells that arises from the anterior part of the late secondary head mesoderm and can be distinguished by expression of tinman (De Velasco et al., 2004; de Velasco et al., 2006. These cells migrate backward to end up behind the brain and attach to the aorta to form the cephalic vascular rudiment (De Velasco et al., 2004. (De Velasco et al., 2004, de Velasco et al., 2006)
