Long dorsal neck muscle that passes above the pleural apodeme (apophysis) and has its posterior attachment slightly dorsoposterior to TH2 (Gorko et al., 2024). It tapers to a tendon that attaches to the posterior head (Gorko et al., 2024). It is innervated by the CvN1 and CvNA1 motor neurons (Gorko et al., 2024).
