Short dorsal neck muscle that attaches at the midline to the pronotal apodeme and extends anterolaterally (Gorko et al., 2024). It attaches via small tendon tendrils to the large tendon of the transverse horizontal muscles (Gorko et al., 2024). It is innervated by the VCvN and CvN2 motor neurons (Gorko et al., 2024). It is found between the other oblique horizontal muscles (Gorko et al., 2024).
