Adult male fruitless neuron that develops from neuroblast BLAv1 (VLPl&d1) (Ito et al., 2013; Yu et al., 2013. There are approximately 30 of these cells per hemisphere, with somas forming two clusters close to the ventrolateral protocerebrum (Kimura et al., 2008; Cachero et al., 2010; Yu et al., 2010. (Yu et al., 2010, Ito et al., 2013, Kimura et al., 2008, Cachero et al., 2010, Yu et al., 2013)
Yu et al., 2010 - FBrf0211884 map aIP1 to Cachero et al., 2010 aIP-d and to AL6b from Kimura et al., 2008 - FBrf0205974, but Cachero et al., 2010 map aIP1 (and AL6b and AL5b) to aIP-c. Ito et al., 2013 - FBrf0221438 also give lineage as VLPl&d1 for aIP-c and AL5b/6b.
